Your private guide will meet you in the lobby of your hotel, and escort you to your private saloon boat, waiting just steps away and begin your exploration of Amsterdam as it was meant to be seen—from the water.
Saloon boats date back to the Dutch Golden Age in the 17th century, originally used by merchants to facilitate trade. As you glide through the UNESCO World Heritage canals, allow yourself to feel part of the history that has shaped the city. Floating through the waterways, your guide will engage in a relaxed conversation, revealing the secrets behind Amsterdam’s canal foundation, architecture, and daily life past and present.
You’ll discover the pillars of Culture, Flavours and Lifestyle that have influenced Dutch identity, tracing these themes from the 17th century all the way to today. To deepen the cultural immersion, a selection of classic Dutch bites will be served on board, such as bitterballen, cheeses, oysters, and traditional herring (haring).
