A full day for those seeking depth, authenticity, and quiet elegance, this private journey runs from the dahlia fields of South Holland to the Dutch Masters of The Hague
The day begins with a private departure from Amsterdam to South Holland and a warm welcome at a third-generation, family-owned flower farm devoted to growing dahlias. Hosted by the growers themselves, the visit opens up the history of the farm, its sustainable methods, and the extraordinary variety of dahlias. There is time to step right into the fields, to learn the different varieties and their seasonal cycles, to photograph the vibrant rows, and to hand-pick a bouquet, a personal connection to the land.

From the fields, the journey continues to Keukenhof Castle for its Dahlia Festival, where more than 200 varieties are displayed across the grounds of an elegant 17th-century estate and its landscaped parkland. The setting draws out the long relationship between Dutch nobility, garden design, and botanical collecting, a refined contrast to the working fields of the morning. Lunch follows by the lake, in a tranquil setting of classic Dutch scenery (local payment).

In the afternoon the road leads to The Hague, the stately seat of Dutch government and royalty, a refined coastal city of palaces, parliament, and world courts.

Here the focus shifts from horticulture to fine art at the Mauritshuis, a jewel-box museum set in a 17th-century palace beside the Binnenhof, home to many of the greatest masterpieces of the Dutch Golden Age, including Vermeer's Girl with a Pearl Earring.
A refined pause follows, with coffee and cake in an 18th-century city palace known for its authentic interiors and storied past. Once a favoured gathering place of figures such as Anna Pavlova and Mata Hari, it offers an atmosphere of another era, a graceful close to the day's artistic chapter.
